A Place For Everything…

Today I am going to talk about a concept that seems simple but is difficult for many people to attain in their homes.

A place for everything and everything in its place. One comment I hear often when helping clients organize their space is “I was looking for that”. People spend so much of their time looking for things that are hidden under items they no longer need, want or use.

-Make sure everything has a place in your home

-If you use it put it back

-If you have mulitples of the same item, pair down to one or two

-Make lists to prevent overbuying

Getting organized is like anything else that does not come easy to you, you have to work at it. After awhile it will become a routine and after that you will not believe you ever lived with all of the clutter in your home and in your life.

Clear The Clutter Then Get Organized

Today’s simple solution to begin the process of getting organized is clear the clutter first and when you see what you have left make a list of the storage containers you need to purchase.

I see a lot of the reverse when I come into a home to help get it organized. Over bought items that were meant to be used and never were end up becoming part of the clutter.

There are so many attractive storage solutions but buying what you don’t need takes up valuable space in your home.

If you don’t use it return it!
